Parking & Shuttle Bus
Parking is available in our church lot, streetside or at the Oshkosh Public Museum parking lot across the street. We have two Visitor spots and three Handicapped Accessible spots. We also offer a Shuttle Bus service. To access the Shuttle Bus, park in UW Oshkosh Lot 27 on Vine Street. The bus will take you to and from church. The bus begins its route at 7:30 am.
Our main entrance is located by the parking lot (it opens into our cafe) or the front entrance on the High Avenue side of the building. We have an Equipping Hour class in the cafe during 9:30 - 10:30 am, so if you arrive prior to 10:30 for the second worship service, please proceed to the set of glass doors facing High Avenue to access the building. Our cafe does not provide beverage or snack service during Equipping Hour so our volunteers can attend classes.
The Information Center is in the cafe, and we have Welcome team greeters stationed throughout the building. Look for the friendly people wearing nametags. Welcome volunteers are a great resource to get connected on a Sunday morning. We also offer complimentary gift bags to all of our first time guests. If you have a moment, stop by the Information Center and pick one up!
Planting Grounds Cafe
As a visitor, you are invited to enjoy a free beverage from our café. Coupons are available at the Information Center and in our complimentary Welcome to RiverValley gift bags. We offer different flavors of fresh brewed coffee, tea and chai, doughnuts, sweet rolls and crackers for the kids. The café opens at 7:30 am and is a warm and welcoming space for fellowship.
RVC | kids
RVC | kids is found in the lower level of our facility for kids ages 0 – 5th grade. Classes for ages 0 - 2nd grade are offered during 1st and 2nd Worship Service (8:00am and 10:45am). Our 3rd - 5th grade friends are welcomed into the adult worship and are given special sermon notes to help make the service more meaningful. Classes for ages 0- 5th grade are offered during the Equipping Hour (9:30am).
Your first stop will be at the Family First Stop table in the lobby by the glass doors. This is where your child will be signed in on an attendance sheet while both you and your child will be given a name tag with a family number. A tour of RVC | kids is next as you accompany your child to his/her appropriate classroom. You will get to meet one of the RVC | kids leaders from your child's class as your child is welcomed and encouraged to join the other kids in a fun activity.
At the end of the adult worship service, you will bring your family number down to your child's classroom. Your child's leader will check your number with your child's number and on your way home your child will be able to tell you all the cool experinces they had durning their time in RVC | kids!
What to Wear
There's no dress code at RiverValley. Dress in what you are most comfortable wearing. You'll see most people in a range from casual to business casual. We don't care what you wear, we're just glad you're here.
Our service begins with a live band playing contemporary worship songs praising and celebrating God’s love and faithfulness. Then we move into prayer and an offering collection followed by a time of teaching (sermon) by our senior pastor Dave Barber. We believe it’s important to study and learn God’s word so we can live faithfully in our secular culture. Announcements are read at the end of the service. On the first Sunday of the month, we celebrate communion and a special Care offering that's used to help our church families/individuals in need. Bibles are available at church, and if you don't own a Bible, please take one home with you.
RVC | Students
On Sunday mornings, students (grades 6-12) have a great opportunity to participate both in a worship service and in an age-specific Equipping Hour class. We believe that students are in a very important stage in their lives between childhood and adulthood, and it is important that they begin to experience and understand what it is to participate in worship with the church as a whole. We also believe that, being in this stage of life, students still benefit from more age-specific Bible teaching to help them navigate the ups and downs of the teenage years.
Worship Services (8:00a & 10:45a)
During the 8:00a and 10:45a services students are encouraged to join their families and the rest of the church body in worshiping the Lord and hearing the Word of God preached in a practical, relevant way.
High School Equip & Middle School Equip (9:30a)
The Equipping Hour allows students to hear and discuss relevant Bible teaching from a great team of caring leaders. It also provides a platform for students to ask hard questions and share ideas in a safe environment
High school students (grades 9-12) meet on Sundays throughout the school year in the classroom between the kitchen and the conference room.
Middle school students (grades 6-8) meet on Sundays throughout the school year in the 'Dungeon', located in the church basement (down the second flight of steps to the left of the steps in the basement)
